Prayer is a must for a growing and connected relationship with God. Prayer is to be constant – “Pray without ceasing,” 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Setting aside a strategic time daily to pray is wise and was modeled by Jesus. Below are recommended steps to get you started:

  • Designate a daily time that fits our personal physiology and schedule
  • Consider using the ACTS model to guide your prayers
      • Adoration – Praise and worship
      • Confession – Deal with sin that needs to be confessed and repented of
      • Thanksgiving – Display gratitude to God
      • Supplication – Make your requests know to God

Suggested areas for which to pray

  • Those who need Christ
  • Personal requests/needs
  • Family requests/needs
  • Church requests/needs
  • National issues
  • International issues

Consider keeping a journal of your prayer requests and how God is answering your requests
